As part of the North Quays Public Infrastructure Project, it is necessary to close the westbound slip road onto Dock Road at Ferrybank from 29th May for a two-year period. This slip lane closure is to facilitate the construction of the new Transport Hub and provide access to the North Quays site.

In April 2023, Waterford City & County Council issued newsletters to update local residents and businesses in the Ferrybank area regarding the North Quays project.
